Assignment 1: So that's how a BAS^_^D looks like?

First assignment is on Dreams. What I have here is a poster based on a made up story for a theatre play. The story goes like this:

There was this guy, A, who knows this girl, G, for a very long time. Their friendship lasted ever since they know how to speak. They had always been the best of friends even though they went to different schools in different point of time. And of cos, A would dream that they are not as simple as "best friends".

Then G got to know this guy, B, who promised to love G forever. However, for some reason A knew that B is a BAS^_^D (closure) and tried very hard to persuade G to leave B but as we all know, when someone is in love, everything is good. Thus she refused to listen to his "rubbish". Left with no choice, A rejected an offer to go further his studies overseas to look after G "in the dark".

Until one day, G decided to go for a vacation with B to Thailand. A wanted to sneak over as well but his mom got sick at that point of time. Being the only child with his dad working overseas, he had to look after his mom and pray every night that G will be fine. He sent G away at the airport. And G never return home. That was the last time he saw G, who now only lives in his memories.

Few things to point out here... Note that only the guy is wet from the rain. This shows that he is sacrificing himself for the happiness of his best friend. I also drew it such that the rain conceal his tears.

He is also holding a small umbrella. The umbrella signifies care and concern and protection. In this case, it's featured so small 'cos the girl doesn't appreciate and hence made his good intentions "useless". Suppose you were to use a small umbrella in heavy rain, isn't it useless as well?

The BAS^_^D is drawn as a wolf in sheep skin. This shows that he had disguised his true form from the girl and cheat her of her feelings. What a BAS^_^D!! I wish I can give him a flying side kick!!

Note that the shadow of the guy is wearing a square hat. Thats the graduation hat. Notice also the rain water kind of make the shadow appear twisted. This shows that his dream is being sacrificed and he chose to suffer to bring happiness to the girl.

Sacrifice is also shown in the back ground where there are only dark clouds above the guy and dead grass on the grass patch behind the guy whereas there are flowers all over the grass at the girl's side.

Then I made another version of the poster. I wanted to add in more "dark" elements and hence chose grey as the main color. This adds on to the sureal'ness of the poster as well. Kind of like this more... hahaha...
